PrintE-mail

Taking action to raise awareness about development may sound daunting at first, but with a bit of planning and our support, you'll be surprised at what you can do. If you want to do any of the below, get in touch with Shady Bajelvand at ambassadors@raleigh.org.uk or 020 7183 1270

Quick actions

These actions don't require much planning but will still spread the word and strengthen the Ambassador network.

Join your local Ambassador Action group
If you don't have time to take action yourself, support others who are by joining an Ambassador group.

Use the internet! Blog, tweet and message
Use your social networking skills to rally support, five minutes of your time could reach five hundred people.

Write a press release in support of the Millennium Development Goals
Use your Raleigh experience to get the Millennium Development Goals in the paper.

High impact actions

Although a bit more planning will be needed, these actions are a sure-fire way to get others inspired and active!

Organise a film screening
Encourage others to buy FairTrade by watching Black Gold. Or get them to reduce their consumption level by watching the Story of Stuff. Whatever you want to raise awareness about, you're bound to find a film on it. So put on a screening and start a debate.

Present at your local faith group, university or work
You don't need to be a development expert to get others inspired. We'll provide you with the knowledge, you provide the passion.

Run a workshop at your local school or university
If public speaking is not your thing, run a workshop or game to raise awareness about issues ranging from Fairtrade to the Millennium Development Goals.

Host a Raleigh Swap&Share party
Clothes swap parties are all the rage, get involved and host one yourself. Through swapping unwanted clothes, you can raise awareness about the social and environmental impact of the textile industry.

Set up an Ambassadors Action group
If you want to connect with other Raleigh alumni passionate about making a difference then why not set up an Ambassadors Action Group in your area or at your university?
