Leadership programmes

Raleigh Development Consultancy (RDC) is the commercial training and business development arm of Raleigh, providing life-changing, challenging experiences that build self-belief, particularly in young people. RDC presents people with unusual and demanding challenges so they can develop under-used skills and talents and perform better when they return to work.

Who are we?
Our consultants, trainers and facilitators are all carefully selected development consultants from a broad range of disciplines with the passion and ability to bring out the best in people. With varied skills and experiences we're able to operate at all levels within an organisation. As a result we deliver quality, multi-layer training packages at all levels through long-term relationships with our clients, based on an extensive knowledge of their business and culture. Current clients include Aviva, Costain, Cap Gemini, Pepsico, Ministry of Defence and the Civil Service.

How does it work?
Research
Before beginning any detailed design, we spend time understanding how your team works and examine the relevant business issues that are likely to be explored. This research is essential if we are to deliver a programme that is integrated with the needs of your team and the expectations of the members.

Learn by doing
Any kind of development that is based around behaviour and change is, we believe, a 4-stage process. Firstly, people must be convinced it is worthwhile for them; secondly, they must sharpen their self-awareness; thirdly, they must practice with new, more varied behaviours and actions; and finally they must apply this learning practically in the workplace.

Facilitation not teaching
All RDC facilitators are highly skilled at helping participants to learn from the experiences they are having on the programme and translating these into tangible actions back at work. The RDC approach to learning is to complement our highly engaging style with a genuine and real commitment for individual development.

Appeal to all learning styles

Within the delivery process we will incorporate a range of training tools. This will ensure that the programme appeals to the greatest range of learning styles and interests within the group.
