Costa Rica Project Partners

Working hand in hand
We are very pleased to be working with the following project partners in Costa Rica & Nicaragua: SINAC, CATIE, Cooperativa Juan Francisco Paz Silva and El Foro.

SINAC
The Sistema Nacional de Areas de Conservacion (SINAC) is a key partner in our work in Costa Rica providing materials, direction, strategy and structure to our environmental and adventure projects in Costa Rica. They are responsible for all the national parks and protected areas in the country.

CATIE
The Centro Agronomico Tropical de Investigacion y Ensenaza (CATIE) is a Pan-American agricultural research institution assisting medium and small farmers to develop sustainable livelihoods through agriculture in the new world tropics. They have their headquarters in Turrialba, Costa Rica and we have our field base in Costa Rica on the CATIE farm.

Cooperativa Juan Francisco Paz Silva
For six years we've worked in partnership with the Cooperative Juan Francisco Paz Silva in the Achuapa area of Northern Nicaragua, the second poorest district in Nicaragua. The Cooperative works with local farmers in the farming of sesame seed, cattle and roselle, to improve the quality of life of families. It also provides the cooperative members with health, veterinary, financial and agricultural advice services.

El Foro
El Foro Miraflor is one of our key partners in Nicaragua. A non-governmental organisation responsible for the co-management of the Miraflor-Moropotente Nature Reserve, conserving the natural resources in the area in partnership with the government, civil society and the local inhabitants. We work with El Foro Miraflor to build educational and community facilities within the nature reserve.
