India host country programme
We encourage young people from all our host countries to get involved with our expedition. In India we have a youth programme in place to recruit young Indians for our expeditions. The India host country programme
Raleigh India was setup in January 2008 with its field base in Mysore, Karnataka. So far over 50 young participants from the southern states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have participated in different expeditions.
The aim of the host country programme is to empower young Indian people from a diverse range of backgrounds to be able to assume positions of responsibility and leadership in their communities and apply their new skills, knowledge and attitudes to improving their career development prospects.
To support the selection and recruitment of these young people Raleigh India has developed close partnerships with partners such as NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and to different local NGO's and Youth groups
How to apply
If you're a young Indian aged 17-24 year old, have a basic understanding of English and are available for the duration of a 10 week expedition, we'd love to hear from you.
You will be invited to participate in an interview with either a member of the Raleigh team or a representative of a partner organisation - or both. Simply contact participate@raleighindia.org for more information.
