Raleigh alumni successfully complete the Globalgiving challenge - Thank you to all those who supported us.

During April 2009 Raleigh took part in Globalgiving's Project Challenge. Globalgiving is a new way for people across the world to give to projects around the world.

The challenge was to raise a total of £1,000 from at least 50 unique donors in 30 days to gain a permanent presence on the website and the opportunity to post a number of projects on the site and the chance to open up a whole network of new supporters for Raleigh's projects in Borneo, Costa Rica & Nicaragua and India.

Thanks to the support of our generous alumni we raised £1,352 from 65 donors during April securing our place on the website.

The money raised through Globalgiving will fund a tribal community project in India. Raleigh will work with the indigenous Kattunayaka and Paniya tribes to construct 14 new homes which will greatly improve their standard of living and prevent long term health.
