Operation Vannakam is a two-phase programme to India organised by the Raleigh Singapore Society. More than 50 volunteers have been working together with local masons and villagers to construct a hospital for the tribal community in the Nilgiri mountains in Tamil Nadu. Phase 1 departed for their 3-weeks phase on 16 May and returned to Singapore on 5 June. They completed the foundation work and started laying the bricks on the left wing of the hospital. Phase 2 departed on 31 May and they are currently working very hard to have the hospital ready for the Inauguration Ceremony on 18 June.
