Student Volunteering Week kicked off this week with various events being staged around the country.

Young adults will be given more opportunities to volunteer abroad and work in some of the world's poorest countries, David Cameron has said.

The Prime Minister, in his speech at the Conservative Party conference, said the National Citizen Service programme would be extended and there would be a new international programme that would "give thousands of our young people, those who couldn't otherwise afford it, the chance to see the world and serve others".
