Training and support
Support
Depending on which expedition country you are going to, you will be allocated one of our dedicated support coordinators who will support you in your preparations and will be on hand to answer any questions you have about your upcoming expedition.
They will send you a Welcome CD containing information on fundraising, general health, vaccinations and kit list for your chosen country and details about our travel and medical insurance.
You will need to return a completed medical form signed by a GP, and you must ensure you have all of the required vaccinations before heading off on expedition.
Training
Pre-Expedition in the UK
We will also invite you to a day's training and preparation event in the UK which will help you understand more about Raleigh and our projects, give you ideas for fundraising and offer you medical, kit and flights advice.
On Expedition
Volunteer managers and venturers undertake rigorous safety, cultural, project and personal development training in the expedition country. This includes safety briefings, risk assessment, casualty evacuation, training in the correct and safe use of tools, camping equipment and safety equipment including radios.
Post-Expedition in the UK
What's more, you'll have the opportunity to attend an employability workshop on your return, making the whole experience a real investment in your career.
