How do I raise the money?
Because Raleigh International is a charity, you can raise the money you need to pay for the expedition through fundraising activities. Don't know where to start? Don't worry, we're here to help!
Raising money for a charitable cause (otherwise known as fundraising) can be hard work, but here at Raleigh International we like a challenge. We'll do everything we can to help you make the most of your fundraising experience. Not only is this a great way of covering the cost of your expedition and raising awareness of Raleigh, but it will also get you in the spirit of your upcoming adventure.
Whether it's just a quick chat on the phone to give you some tips, or more in depth assistance, our support team are always happy to discuss your fundraising activities with you.
What's more, once you've signed up to an expedition we'll send you a welcome email. This is packed full of information and ideas about fundraising, including a list of events you can get involved in, from skydiving to walking the Brecon Beacons. It includes, templates for writing letters and press releases, a list of trusts and foundations you can write to, and loads more. We'll also give you some key messages to help you communicate the benefits of doing a Raleigh expedition when you are fundraising.
If you think your personal circumstances might prevent you from raising the full amount, see if you're eligible for the Raleigh Bursary Award.
Fundraising for your expedition gives you a great opportunity to be creative, develop some networking skills and just have fun.

If you are joining a Raleigh expedition through a Youth Agency, please ask your key worker to contact Raleigh for more information before setting up your JustGiving account.
Make the most of local media
Contacting your local press is a great way to raise awareness of your expedition and fundraising in your community. What's more, the media love to hear about people doing worthwhile volunteer projects on their gap year.
