Tailor-made Expeditions

Alongside our core expeditions for young people, operated throughout the year, Raleigh has built up an enviable reputation for designing and delivering expeditions and activities tailored to the needs of a diverse range of organisations.

Desired outputs and their level of importance will depend on the organisation, but may include, for example:

• Making a real contribution to the local community in one of the countries where we work, helping them to build a sustainable environment with access to education and health facilities for their people
• Cultural awareness and global citizenship
• Insight into environmental and community sustainability
• Increased confidence
• Greater understanding of participants' strengths and weaknesses
• Effective team-working, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Increased propensity to take on new challenges and ways of working
• Exposure to extreme physical environments and adventure

The itineraries that we develop will be influenced by your desired outputs and may range from a one-day team-building activity in the UK, to a 9-day community project overseas to a 4-week expedition encompassing jungle-camp training, an environmental project and an adventure trek. 

To illustrate this further:
For employers we have created leadership training programmes in line with their talent management objectives, as well as team-based community projects that meet their CSR aims. Clients include Aviva, PepsiCo, Capgemini, Ministry of Defence and Costain.

For schools, youth and membership organisations, we have designed a number of activities and expeditions, often with a cultural awareness and personal development focus.  Clients include Hereford Youth Services, Northumberland Youth Service, Cranleigh School, North Fulham New Deal for Communities (a programme run by London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for Henry Compton and Fulham Cross Schools), Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Diabetes UK.
