There are a number of ways in which you can support and publicise the work of Raleigh International. You can make an individual donation including shares giving or support Raleigh through your company. You can take on one of the exciting challenge events we have organised and we are always happy to hear of ideas you have for promoting Raleigh International.

Shares giving
Support our work in helping all young people, regardless of backgrounds and cultures to access a Raleigh International expedition and realise their full potential.
Use Justgiving to make a secure online donation or complete a postal donation form.
If you are a UK income tax payer, take advantage of gift aid to make the most of your donation, as we are able to claim additional money from the taxman (and it does not cost you a penny).
You may wish to support us on an on-going basis and we are particularly delighted to receive support in the form of regular giving as this allows us to plan ahead. Please make a regular gift.
Some employers may have a scheme allowing you to make a regular payroll donation, or you may wish to suggest this to your employer. These are becoming increasingly popular with businesses and we can send you or your employer an information pack on these give-as-you-earn schemes. For further information, please contact Teresa Fitzgerald.
"I gained a real sense of achievement by completing the 3 week trekking phase, which I previously thought was impossible to do. Through this I learnt to believe in my own capacity to succeed, and I remain committed to supporting others to do the same. Other young people should try the overseas programme because it can change the way you feel about yourself and other people."

Remembering Raleigh International in your will can make a real difference to the life of a young person.
Many people in the UK die without making a will meaning much of their estate will not go to help their loved ones. Making a will and leaving a donation to Raleigh International can benefit your family and friends. Leaving such a legacy would not be subject to inheritance tax and would reduce the overall amount of your will that is taxable.
We are able to help and provide all relevant documents; please contact Teresa Fitzgerald for further information.
With tax incentives introduced in April 2000, shares giving may now be one of the best ways to support a charitable organisation.
If you were to give shares worth £1,000, Raleigh International would benefit and you would pay £400 or £220 less in income tax that year, depending on whether you are a higher rate or basic rate tax payer. As a further bonus, capital gains tax on any increase in the value of shares since you bought them will not apply.
Small parcels of shares that generate a lot of paperwork, possibly more than income, or windfall shares which might make little financial difference to you could make a huge difference for Raleigh International.
These small shares can be donated to charities through ShareGift which will add your shares to others to make up a significant amount. Alternatively, you can obtain a stock transfer form from the registrar who acts for the company in which you have shares. The name of the registrar can be found on the bottom of your share certificate.

You should consider seeking professional advice from your tax adviser to ensure your gift is structured in the most tax effective way. Otherwise, please consult HM Revenue & Customs for further information.

"I've learned how to cope well when things don't go how I'd like them to. I've also become much better at adapting to new situations. My leadership skills have grown. I've learned how to ask for help."
Bertie Speirs, Malaysia 2006 expedition
