Raleigh ICS is an International Citizen Service programme. It is a unique opportunity for you to make a difference through working with communities in developing countries and in the UK. Funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and run by some of the most respected names in international volunteering, it is one of the UK's leading global volunteering programmes for young people.

International Citizen Service aims to:

  • Involve young people in meaningful overseas development work
  • Provide volunteers from the UK and international volunteers with a valuable learning experience and personal development opportunities
  • Ensure the continued active global citizenship of participants through the Action at Home project and beyond

Every stage of the Raleigh ICS journey is designed to give you the chance to learn new life and leadership skills.

Raleigh ICS also supports national volunteers through similar journeys in their own countries. Each overseas placement will consist of multiple projects which will tackle issues related to the Millennium Development Goals.
Raleigh ICS overseas placements depart three times a year in the spring, summer and autumn and we are currently recruiting volunteers for programmes in India, Nicaragua and Tanzania.
